Natural Symbols the Venezuela


We also have our natural symbols as they are:

Araguaney (Tabebuia chrysantha):

  It is the emblematic tree of Venezuela. It was proclaimed national tree on May 29, 1948 (day of the tree), its name is because it belongs to the family bignoniacea tabebuia that is of indigenous origin and chrysantha comes from the Greek "flower of gold".

Araguaney

 The Orchid or May Flower (Cattleya mossiae)
      It is also called "Flor de Mayo", because the Venezuelan people use it to decorate the May Cross during a traditional religious festival that bears the same name. It was proclaimed as our national flower on May 23, 1951. It represents part of the natural beauty of Venezuela

Turpial (Icterus icterus)

Proclaimed the National Bird of Venezuela on May 23, 1958. It is characterized by having yellow-orange colors in all its body except in the head, the wings are black with some white tones and a small blue spot around the eyes. It has a very particular song and melodious as well as varied that is heard at dawn.
